How does culture influence whether a person uses direct or indirect communication? The question of which nation will make a better communicator – Americans or Frenchs – is easily answered in favor of the former, says Kim Sang Hun, a freelance writer. In a presentation on language diversity in Asia, he talked about some of the peculiarities of his native tongue, so some of the listeners had brought a Certified French Translation trade group to interpret for them. However, the focus of Matsuoka’s work is on the theoretical foundation of intercultural communication rather than intercultural business communication. In other words there is visible distinction between the communicative strategies and the economic processes. Several important issues must be addressed if we are to found a precise international economic interaction basis: How can we model the intercultural business communication process? How does business strategy contribute to intercultural business communication? Why is a focus on business important? In what way do trainees in organizations help them build a better tactics against competitors? What is the role of learning foreign languages in helping become a better employee? How does the research conducted in the field facilitate our better understanding of the described processes? Is it only a matter of better preparation to learn to communicate successfully in another language?
The circumstances in which the process of multicultural exchange takes place are typically financial ones. When Assoc. Prof. Fabio Gonzales published his book entitled Investment in Knowledge, he commented that it is multicultural environment that plays significant role in the success or failure of certain organizations – thus, he says, specialists in physics require more capacity in particular natural and made-up processes, while chemist will be dwell upon elements and reactions, but there is not a prescribed procedure for all of them.
