Your sophomore year in a translation services program is full of surprises that bring new tests and personal transformations. Emotionally speaking, this can be a very demanding time for pupils. As an undergraduate student, you’ll be required to take tests that measure your reading, writing, and verbal communication skills. In addition, this is your last opportunity to prove that you have the skills required to move into the school of language translation services. One thing that you should have figured out by now is that written understanding and communication in your German Translator program is the personal strength that you will be tested most on. In order to get you ready for your next set of classes in translator services, this series of articles will test your existing skills and force you to examine and evaluate your strengths and weaknesses.
In undergraduate translation services studies and beyond, you’ll be asked to read, understand, and interpret a variety of texts, including stories and verses, analysis, essays, and logical and scientific information. While a lot of your learning will still take place in the classroom, you’ll be expected to read more and more information outside of class. You’ll need not only to understand what you read but also to respond to and assess what you read. The required exercises in the language laboratory will challenge you to make inferences and draw conclusions about situations that might not always have defined outcomes. During the semester, you will notice an improvement in your abilities. One of the abilities that you will gain is being able to transmit your thoughts and responses quickly and clearly.
By following this series of papers, you will be able to monitor your progress and identify your weaknesses and areas that could use some brush up. These were carefully designed to prepare you for your German, Japanese or Portuguese Translation Services career. In terms of time requirements, our assignments should take under an hour to complete. The material has been laid out in a logical sequence so that you won’t feel over loaded or confused. Each blog post in this series of translation services articles will improve your abilities if you follow the order to posts and make your way through the material with us together. Every week for the next 20 weeks, we will release a new article that will require you to use you existing skills and push you to develop new skills. Each week, you will strengthen your skills as you develop new competencies.
The translator services lessons are divided into six sections. All 40 articles in the series will concentrate on carefully crafting a set of skills that include reading, writing and verbal communication abilities. These strategies are outlined at the beginning of each paper and reviewed at the end of the paper in a special section. Every one of the 50 tutorials has 2 to 3 translation challenges that students can use to enhance and refine their German, Russian or Japanese to English Translation skills. At the end of each blog entry, after the set of question that test your competencies, we provide the complete explanations and solutions to each question. You’ll also find a section called Skill Building until Next Time after each practice session.
